STEAM Works Encore Kids College at TCEA

Computer science and 21st century skills are often a secondary focus in education and when they are applied it is within a tight framework and restricted application.  This course will be broken into two parts. Part one participants will take part in a common activity developing a project that will solve a problem or accomplish a task.  Part two participants will choose what they want to do and what tool they want to use.  Both activities and their levels of complexity will vary based on the age level of the participants.  Each iteration of this program will change based on tools available and make up of participants that are signed up.  All of this will be done with the goal of students developing basic computer science skills, ability to apply personal creativity into a task, and improve on problem solving skills whether in a group or working as an individual.
